8-year-old boy shot in Buffalo, injuries appear life-threatening

Buffalo Police say an 8-year-old boy suffered possibly life-threatening injuries when he was shot while sitting in a vehicle on South Division Street Thursday night. Police responded to a call around 10 p.m. Thursday after gunfire broke out on the 400 block of South Division. He was taken to Women and Children's Hospital. A city spokesman says his injuries "appear life-threatening in nature."

It is unclear what led to the shooting. No arrests have been reported. Anyone with information is asked to call or text the city's confidential tipline at 847-2255.
