Clinton escapee David Sweat was released from Albany Medical Center early Sunday morning and has returned to a maximum security correctional facility.
Sweat has been transported to Five Points Correctional Facility in Romulus, New York. The Department of Corrections and Community Supervision announced that Sweat will undergo a medical evaluation in the infirmary for a 24-hour period. Afterwards he will be placed in a single cell in the Five Points Special Housing Unit on active suicide watch.
Sweat along with Richard Matt escaped from Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora on June 6. After a nearly three week long manhunt, Matt was shot and killed by U.S Boarder Patrol on June 26. Sweat was shot and captured two days later.
