Buffalo teens sentenced to prison for murdering cab driver

Two Buffalo teenagers could spend the rest of their lives in prison for killing a cab driver after robbing him of his cell phone and wallet.  A state Supreme Court justice on Wednesday sentenced Sean Austin to 60 years to life and Maurice Howie to 35 years to life for the death of Mazen Abdallah in 2013. Abdallah was found in the back of his cab with two gunshot wounds to his head.

Austin, who's now 17, and 18-year-old Howie were convicted by a jury in February of second-degree murder and first-degree robbery.

Police say they were part of a group that had been targeting cab drivers and deliverymen for robbery. Two other teenagers were sentenced in May for their part in previous holdups.
