Infant killed in drunken driving crash

Drunk driving is being blamed in a crash that killed a 7-month-old girl and left her mother seriously injured.

The Erie County Sheriff's office says their car was hit by an oncoming SUV that crossed the center line on a road in the town of Brant at about 9:45 a.m. Tuesday. They say Baylee Marie Dion was in a safety seat in the back when the collision tore the car in half.

Her mother, 31-year-old Denise Hine of Hamburg, was hospitalized in serious condition.

Deputies say the SUV driver, 24-year-old Danielle Kellogg of Brant, was treated for minor injuries and charged with DWI and vehicular manslaughter.
