Ontario has launched e-learning for students stuck at home because of COVID-19. As Dan Karpenchuk reports, the e-learning website will include materials for students to continue their studies.
It's still not clear when schools in Ontario will reopen. Until then, hundreds of thousands of children are at home.
A new e-learning website will offer such courses as Grade 9 science, Grade 10 Foundation of Mathematics and Grade 12 Physics.
Most of the courses for Grade 12's have yet to be posted online. Many of those students need credits to graduate and for their post-secondary education applications.
The program, produced by the Ontario college of teachers, was announced in Toronto by Ontario premier Doug Ford. Ford says the online learning tools are interactive and in both English and in French.
Tutors will also be made available to help students with their questions.
The Ontario government says it's also working with school boards to help provide technology for students who don't have access to a computer.
