Theater Talk: OUR TOWN opens, LADIES FOURSOME continues, parking's a problem, and a look at 2018

A.R.T. Facebook page

Thornton Wilder's 1938 beloved OUR TOWN opens tonight Buffalo's A.R.T. at 545 Elmwood (near Utica).

Meanwhile, THE LADIES FOURSOME continues to delight at Desiderio's Dinner Theatre which benefits from an enormous parking lot. That is not the case for any of the downtown theaters, and as the Buffalo Common Council wrestles with new parking policies which many see as potentially burdonsome to theater and service workers, interested parties are invited to contact Council President Darius Pridgen (716-851-4980 or dpridgen@city-buffalo.com) with their thoughts. And, we look back with fondness at just a few of the major Broadway people who passed away in 2018.

Listings adapted from "On the Boards" appearing in Artvoice January 3-9, 2018

Listen for Theater Talk, Friday morning at 6:45 and 8:45 during Morning Edition.
Even though "semi-retired," Peter Hall continues to wear many hats. He is the Sunday afternoon host on WBFO’s “sister station,” WNED Classical where he has produced over 1,000 radio interviews with musical artists. If you see him at a theater with a pen in his hand, he’s probably getting ready to co-host “Theater Talk” with Anthony Chase (heard Friday mornings at 6:45 and 8:45 a.m. on WBFO) or to write a review for www.buffalorising.com. He is also a member of the "Artie Awards" committee (think “Tony Awards for Buffalo theaters”).
