Theater Talk: 'Sleepy Hollow' for the kids, Jason Alexander for their parents

As Halloween approaches, Theatre of Youth presents THE LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW where all the kids in the audience want to know "is there anybody in the coffin?"

Openings tonight include: THE BAD SEED, a play by Maxwell Anderson presented by The Mystery Company opens tonight and runs through October 25, Fri & Sat at 7:30, Sun at 2:30, plus Oct 22 at 2:30 at the Lancaster Opera House, 21 Central Ave., Lancaster (683-1776).

DANIEL’S HUSBAND, a play by Michael McKeever, presented by Buffalo United Artists, and directed by Javier Bustillos, opens tonight and runs through November 7, Fri & Sat at 8. Alleyway Theatre, One Curtain Up Alley (886-9239).

EXTREMITIES, play by William Mastrosimone presented by the Niagara University Players, directed by Kathleen Macari Oct 16-18, Fri at 7:30, Sat at 2 & 7:30, Sun at 2 at the Leary Theatre, Clet Hall, Niagara University campus (286-8685).

Ongoing productions include: THE LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW, based on the story by Washington Irving, presented by Theatre of Youth, directed by Meg Quinn is up through Oct 25, Sat & Sun at 2 at the  Allendale Theatre, 203 Allen St. (884-4400).

MISS JULIE, drama by August Strindberg, adapted and directed by Melissa Leventhal, presented by Buffalo Chrysalis Theatre Company through  Oct 25, Thu-Sat at 8, Sun at 2. Grange Theatre, 22 Main St, third floor, Hamburg (903-9288).

NOBODY’S INN, musical by Grant Golden presented by Western Door Playhouse, directed by Sharon Priest,  through Oct 25, Fri & Sat at 8, Sun.at 2:30 at the Woodbox Theatre, Niagara Arts.

Theater Talk co-host Peter Hall joins Raices Theatre Company’s Rolando Gomez (last seen in IN THE HEIGHTS at Musicalfare) along with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, Stefan Sanders conducting, in KNOW THE SCORE: COPLAND IN MEXICO at Kleinhans Music Hall, one night only, October 16 at 7 p.m.

And, on Saturday, the Buffalo Philharmonic Pops welcomes an old friend of Buffalo, Jason Alexander, to sing and perhaps not dance as much as he used to.  Saturday night at 8 p.m. at Kleinhans Music Hall.
