The lights on Broadway dimmed for star of stage, film, radio and television, Marion Seldes, best known for her work in the plays of Edward Albee. Seldes died Monday at 86 after six decades of "ruling" Broadway with her regal presence.
At Shea's, "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" continues after 46 years to draw audiences and this new 2014 production is a high energy show featuring youth and six-pack abs. Next door, part of the Shea's family, the Smith Theatre opens Tuesday with a coming of age story about growing up in an Italian American family - "Blood Type: Ragu."Theater Talk co-hosts headed over to the Paul Robeson Theatre on Masten Avenue for "Shake Em On Down," billed as a "blues opera" which incorporates 18 blues songs (most from the early 20th century) sung with a very tight piano-guitar-drum-bass accompaniment. And Theatre of Youth's "Seussical the Musical" continues to charm at the Allendale.
