On Sunday Senator Charles Schumer announced that a new detector technology can sniff out an explosive commonly used by ISIS.
TATP also known as Triacetone Triperoxide has been used in the recent terrorist attacks in Paris and Brussels. Schumer called on the Department of Homeland Security to fast track testing the new technology so it could be deployed.
The explosive detector has tested successfully in lab settings but must undergo more field testing before being released for usage at U.S airports and train stations. Schumer says the new detector could make New York a safer place.
