Remembering the snowfall of December of 2010

It looks like the Buffalo Niagara region will finally get an overdue blast of winter weather.

The National Weather Service has issued a Lake Effect Snow Watch from late Thursday night through Friday afternoon for Erie, Niagara, Genesee and Wyoming counties.

It will be party sunny on Thursday with highs in the upper 30's and by the evening snow showers are expected to arrive.

The snow could be heavy at times in the overnight hours with two to four inches of accumulation. Temperatures will be only in the upper 20's.

By Friday morning, expect Lake Effect snow showers.  Snow could be heavy at times dumping an additional three to five inches of snow with temperatures in the mid-30's.

The region is long overdue for snow fall.  There was no measurable snow in the Buffalo area during the month of November.
