The U.S. Military plays a role in historic preservation. The Camden Preservation Project,- led by Fort A.P. Hill from Richmond, Virginia, will receive the National Trust/Advisory Council on Historic Preservation Award for Federal Partnerships.

An awards ceremony will be held Thursday evening as the National Trust continues its conference in Buffalo.

WBFO'S Eileen Buckley talked to Lt. Colonel Jack Haefner, Garrison commander of Fort A.P. Hill.

Haefner is a native of Buffalo. He explains how the military assisted to protect Civil War battlefields that are now a National Historic Landmark.
