Buffalo, NY – Buffalo Police continue to investigate a weekend car crash that sent a vehicle plunging off the 198-Scajaquada Expressway.

The car dropped 40-feet onto Niagara Street Saturday night.

Police spokesman Mike DeGeorge said it appeared the car actually traveled along the barrier before hitting a light pole and tumbling to the street.

"Investigators thought, maybe around a quarter of a mile before the 190 split, that the car was actually hugging the barrier and that the tires, to some extent, were up on the barriers," said DeGeorge.

Three males and one female, all in their teens, survived. The driver is in fair condition, the others are in stable condition.

Police are looking into speed as a factor. Charges are pending.
