Buffalo, NY – State Senator William Stachowski Tuesday awarded the Kevin Guest House a $52,000 state grant for the installation of emergency generators. The generators will provide back-up power to the complex's four apartments and main building.

The guest house, which sits in Buffalo's medical corridor, provides safe, affordable housing for patients being treated at local hospitals and their families. Guest House Director John Zimmerman said the generators will be a welcomed addition to the residents who often require the assistance of medical equipment.

"Maintaining power during unexpected and often prolonged power outages is critical to the health and well being of guests, some of whom require around-the-clock medical monitoring," Zimmerman said.

The house first opened its doors to guests in 1972.
