Buffalo, NY – The criminal indictment against former Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno has been upheld by a federal judge. The decision was handed down on Friday, and it rejected a defense motion that attempted to overturn or to delay the case.
A trial is scheduled to begin on November second. Bruno is facing eight counts of services fraud, of having made more than three million dollars through the influence of his position as opposed to serving his constituents.
Each count carries a possible sentence of up to twenty years in prison.
