Schumer Optimistic about Bills Future in Buffalo

By Mark Scott, with Assistance from WXXI, Rochester

Pittsford, NY – US Senator Charles Schumer met with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and Buffalo Bills owner Ralph Wilson at Bills training camp at Saint John Fisher College Monday. They discussed the long-term viability of the team in Western New York.

The Bills are expanding their fan base by scheduling a regular season game in Toronto this season. Schumer says he's pleased that the rest of the Bills' home schedule at Ralph Wilson Stadium is selling out.

"If we can fill the stadium up every week -- it looks like there will be no blackouts this year -- that's great news for strengthening the Bills," Schumer said.

Commissioner Goodell also said Monday that the league will take no punitive action against Running Back Marshawn Lynch for his involvement in a hit-and-run accident in May that injured a pedestrian. Goodell says Lynch pleaded guilty to a traffic violation, which is not punishable under the league's personal conduct policy.
