By Mark Scott

Cattaraugus Indian Reservation, NY – The Seneca Nation of Indians approved a referendum Tuesday that will lead to the opening of two gambling casinso in Buffalo and Niagara Falls.

By a vote of 1,077 to 976, Seneca members favored a casino compact between the nation and the State of New York. The compact must now be approved by the U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs.

Officials hope to open a temporary casino by the end of the year at the Niagara Falls Convention Center. WBFO News will have more details on the Seneca referendum later this morning.
