Gov. Kathy Hochul has selected state Sen. Brian Benjamin (D-Harlem) as her lieutenant governor. Benjamin becomes the second Black lieutenant governor in state history, following David Paterson, who become governor in 2008 following the resignation of Eliot Spitzer.
