Casey Candaele last managed in Vancouver in 2019.

The Toronto Blue Jays have named Casey Candaele as the new manager of the Buffalo Bisons.

He becomes the 22nd Herd manager in the team's modern era and is the fourth former Bisons player in the modern era to be named manager of the squad, joining Joel Skinner, Torey Lovullo and Bobby Meacham.

Candaele played for the Herd from 1995-1997, was an American Association league All-Star in 1996 and only missed the Bisons 1997 American Association championship because of a knee injury.

In 2018, he was manager of Toronto's Single-A team in Dunedin, FL, followed by a year in Vancouver in 2019. Candaele was in charge of all Blue Jays minor leaguers not assigned to Toronto's alternate training site in Rochester last year, after the shutdown of all of minor league baseball during the pandemic.

Mark Wozniak, WBFO's local All Things Considered host, has been at WBFO since mid-1978.
