Governor to visit Bills Stadium to talk reopening to fans

Gov. Andrew Cuomo is weighing in on the possibility of fans attending Buffalo Bills games in person this season.

Currently, state coronavirus policies prevent fans from attending sporting events, since the state limits gatherings at outdoor events to 50 people.

However, the governor said during a conference call Wednesday that he plans to tour Bills Stadium in Orchard Park soon, and meet with team officials and engineers to discuss the logistics of getting fans into and out of the facility safely while maintaining social distancing protocols.

There are ongoing concerns, since the governor-issued "caution flag" for Western New York remains in effect, with the current regional infection rate at 1.1%.
