Former Sabre Matthew Barnaby in trouble with the law again

Former Buffalo Sabres player Matthew Barnaby has been arrested and charged with assault and public intoxication after an altercation at a bar in Nashville, TN early Thursday morning.

Bar security told police that Barnaby, his girlfriend and other patrons in the bar got into a fight, and Barnaby choked the bouncer. He is out on $6,000 bond and due back in court later this month.

Barnaby released a brief statement on his Twitter account abut the incident:

In December 2011, Barnaby was arrested for DWI in Clarence Center and that cost him a hockey analyst job at ESPN.

In May of that year, he faced several charges after an altercation with his estranged wife and her boyfriend. He was sentenced to 500 hours of community service at the time.
