The Buffalo Sabres won the National Hockey League's draft lottery Saturday night. That means Buffalo will have the first overall pick in next month's NHL draft.

The Sabres finished last in the league this past season, giving the team the best chances in the lottery.

Following last night's drawing, Sabres General Manager Jason Botterill said he's happy for the fans.

"It was nerve-wrecking at the very end," Botterill said. "I'm just very, very happy for our fanbase."

The Sabres are expected to select Swedish defenseman Rasmus Dahlin, who is believed to be the top player available this year.
