Bills come in last on Forbes list of most valuable NFL franchises

Buffalo Bills

Forbes magazine has released its annual rankings of the worth of the 32 National Football League franchises and the Buffalo Bills are in last place on the list.

Forbes lists the value of the Bills at $1.6 billion, up about seven percent from last year. The franchise was purchased by Terry and Kim Pegula in 2014 for $1.4 billion.

Factors used to determine the net worth include revenue, operating income and player expenses. Operating income more than doubled to $53 million, from $25.9 million last year. Revenues were also up to $352 million, from last year's $326 million.

One factor in the increase was the sale of stadium naming rights to New Era Cap Company in 2016 for $40 million over seven years.

Topping the list were the Dallas Cowboys, worth $4.8 billion, and the New England Patriots, at $3.7 billion.
