"I have to say that this is the earliest I can remember Bills fans being so distraught over the state and prospects for the team," said analyst Matt Sabuda during WBFO's Beyond the Playbook. He's troubled by the strange timing of the dismissal of offensive coordinator Greg Roman and the team's poor showing on defense.
"These really should have been things that needed to be recognized and addressed throughout the offseason," Sabuda said about the issues surrounding the offense and its coordinator.
Sunday's opponent, the Arizona Cardinals, may only add to the Bills' troubles.
"After a close loss to the Patriots in week one, the Cardinals are coming off a big bounce back 40-7 win over the Buccaneers," said Sabuda.pointing out how many consider Arizona to be championship contenders.
"After the Cardinals, the Bills are headed to New England. who despite some bumps in the road without (quarterback Tom) Brady. are still holding things together. So with a loss for the Bills on Sunday, they can be looking at the very real possibility of an 0-4 start."
