Former Buffalo Bisons manager Eric Wedge has been hired by the Toronto Blue Jays as the team's Player Development Advisor.

Wedge, a 2014 Buffalo Baseball Hall of Fame inductee, will be working closely with the Blue Jays top managers.

Wedge managed the Bisons for two seasons from 2001 to 2002, during which the team won the International League North division title. Wedge then went on to manage Seattle and Cleveland's Major League Baseball teams.

Avery began his broadcasting career as a disc jockey for WRUB, the University at Buffalo’s student-run radio station.
