Bills sell record number of season tickets

The Buffalo Bills have set a franchise record for season ticket sales.  Team officials say more than 57,500 season tickets have been sold in 2015, so far. That beats the previous record of 57,132 from 1992, when the Bills were in their Super Bowl era.

The team sold 47,482 season tickets in 2014. A number of major changes have taken place since last season, including the sale of the team to Terry and Kim Pegula, the hiring of Rex Ryan as head coach, and the acquisition of new players including star running back LeSean McCoy.

“Since we agreed to purchase the Buffalo Bills in September 2014, we have been humbled by the fans and their outpouring of emotion when they learned this team would remain in Buffalo," said owner Terry Pegula, in a statement. “Bills Season Ticket Members passionately support this team year after year and are the most loyal fans in the National Football League. We truly thank them for their commitment to this franchise.”

The organization is still selling a limited amount of season tickets, but team president Russ Brandon said Monday that number will be capped at 60,000. After that, a waiting list would go into effect.

Limited individual game tickets remain for just one home game, the January 3 finale against the New York Jets. Individual tickets are no longer available for the team’s first seven regular season home games.
