Don't have a Bills ticket? Be prepared to pay

Mike Desmond/WBFO News

The Buffalo Bills open their home schedule this Sunday with a game against the Miami Dolphins and if you don't already have a ticket, you can expect to pay a premium on the secondary market. According to the aggregator SeatGeek.com, the average ticket price for the sold out game on the secondary market, on sites like StubHub, is $260. It's the most expensive ticket across the NFL for Week 2 of the new season.

SeatGeek analyst Connor Gregoire says the Bills' opening win against the Bears last week and excitement over the team's new ownership have led to an unprecedented spike.

"Tickets prices have really shot up over the last couple of days since the Bills' upset win over Bears last weekend, and then the news that came out this week that Terry Pegula is going to be buying the team," Gregoire told WBFO News.

"There's a lot of excitement over the team."

The Bills will hand out stickers honoring Ralph Wilson at Sunday's game, along with rally towels to the first 50,000 fans. Hall of Famers Andre Reed and Jim Kelly are expected to be part of the opening festivities, which will include a tribute to the late owner.

"The cheapest ticket right now if $173. That's just to get into the nosebleeds at Ralph Wilson Stadium. That's the highest get-in price for any NFL game in Week 2. That's really surprising. We don't see that too often in Buffalo," Gregoire said.

Kickoff Sunday is at 1 p.m. Fans going to the game will see a number of improvements at the aging stadium, after a $130 renovation over the offseason.
