Deadline passes for initial Bills bids

A 5pm Tuesday deadline has passed for potential buyers of the Buffalo Bills to submit initial bids. Morgan Stanley, the financial firm conducting the team's sale on behalf of the Ralph Wilson estate, accepted the non-binding bids.  According to reports, 15 potential buyers had signed non-disclosure agreements regarding team finances.  It's not yet known how many of them submitted a bid.

Among possible bidders for the franchise were Buffalo Sabres owner Terry Pegula, Toronto media and sports mogul Larry Tanenbaum with rock star Jon Bon Jovi, and real estate developer Donald Trump.

Jeffrey Gundlach, an Amherst native and Los Angeles bond broker, has expressed interest, as has Pabst brewing conpany owner C. Dean Metropoulos.

People with knowledge of such transactions say other yet unnamed bidders could still surface.

Mark Wozniak, WBFO's local All Things Considered host, has been at WBFO since mid-1978.
