Sabres raise season ticket prices 4%

WBFO News file photo

The Buffalo Sabres are raising season ticket prices by four percent. The team announced Wednesday that prices will go up $1 to $4 per game for the 2014-2015 campaign, depends on the seat location.

The most expensive seats in the 200 level are going from $103 to $107, while the cheapest ticket in the 300 level will cost $27, up from $26. The increases come after a season in which the team finished with the NHL's worst record.

In a statement, Sabres President Ted Black says the team has to balance the affordability of its tickets against the opportunity to qualify for league revenue sharing. He says Sabres tickets are still among the most affordable in the NHL.

Season ticket holders can receive a rebate of up to 6.5% in the form of a SabreBucks gift card if they renew their account by June 23. The card can be used for merchandise and concessions.

Demand remains high for Sabres season tickets. Last year, the team capped sales at 16,000, roughly 3,000 below the capacity for First Niagara Center.
