New Bisons uniforms pay tribute to the past, new parent club

Buffalo Bisons

The Buffalo Bisons on Friday unveiled their new uniforms for the 2013 season, the first in which the team will be affiliated with the Toronto Blue Jays. The club has new home, away, and alternate uniforms that return the team to the red, white and blue color scheme of past years, in line with their recently-unveiled logo. Players will also don new caps, produced by locally-operated New Era Cap Company.

“We’ve received fantastic fan feedback of our new logo design. These new uniforms are the perfect complement to our new look and will not only energize our fans, but also make them proud of our long-standing tradition in Buffalo,” said Bisons Vice President/General Manager Mike Buczkowski.

The Bisons say the use of 'scarlet red' lettering, 'reflex blue' numbering on the 'icy white' home and gray road uniforms were taken from the look of Bisons teams from the early days of Coca Cola Field.  The on-field caps feature the 'hitting Buster' stance reflected in the team's new logo.

The new jerseys, designed by Russell Athletic, incorporate Russell's advanced air flow management and stretch power technology used to create a cooler, drier, and more moveable uniform.

The red alternate jerseys pay tribute to the team's new cross-border affiliation, with a similar look to the Jays' uniform style and a bi-national patch on the sleeve.

Opening Day is April 4.
