On the few nice days we've had during the coronavirus pandemic, neighborhoods throughout the region were filled with people tending to their gardens. In this week's Press Pass with WBFO's Mark Scott, Buffalo Spree editor Elizabeth Licata says the recent cold spell provides clear evidence that it's still to soon to do any actual planting.
Elizabeth shares more about gardening, saying she expects more people, with time on their hands at home, will be growing their own vegetables this summer.
Dr. Timothy Murphy, an expert in infectious diseases at the University at Buffalo, did a Q & A with Buffalo Spree about coronavirus. Elizabeth touches on her main takeaway from that interview, including tips on reducing anxiety amid all the distressing daily news.
The coronavirus is having a huge impact on restaurants. While some are offering take-out to make ends meet, Elizabeth says that's not a viable financial strategy for the long term.
And Elizabeth announces there will be a June print edition of Buffalo Spree.
