Press Pass: Niagara Falls' Old Stone Chimney

One of the oldest structures in our region is being carefully dismantled so that it can be rebuilt in a more accessible place. The Old Stone Chimney in Niagara Falls dates to the French and Indian War. Buffalo Spree editor Elizabeth Licata talks about this landmark in our Press Pass conversation with WBFO's Mark Scott.

Also on the topic of preservation, Buffalo Spree writer Barry Muskat profiled real estate developer Don Gilbert in the November issue. Gilbert has restored five historic structures in Allentown into residential units. Elizabeth says sharing Gilbert's story is long overdue.

Elizabeth penned an article about an initiative at CEPA patterned after a program known as Community Supported Agriculture in which people buy shares from local farms in return for fresh produce. In this case, one buys shares from participating artists, who then sell their works to shareholders.

Mark and Elizabeth also touch on this month's cover story -- soup!
