Press Pass: A Buffalo beer renaissance

Craft beers are widely available in Western New York. Several new micro-breweries have opened in recent years, thanks to a change in state law. In this week's Press Pass, WBFO's Mark Scott talks about the local craft beer movement with Buffalo Spree editor Elizabeth Licata.

A Buffalo beer renaissance is well underway. Beer is being made by passionate craft brewers in the Old First Ward, on the West Side, in the heart of downtown, and throughout the northern and southern reaches of Western New York. And if you can’t get to the beer where it’s being made, it will come to you, via the taps of bars and pubs throughout the region.

Buffalo Spree's September issue features a very selective update on some of the newer breweries and brewers with a complete list (as of press time) included.

Mark and Elizabeth also talk about some new art exhibits and the Old Chestnut Film Society.
