From time to time, Buffalo Spree checks in on Western New York women to find out what they’re up to and who’s flying under the radar. The November issue introduces us to a number of women who are making a difference.
Among the women who are profiled: WBFO Senior Reporter Eileen Buckley; Monica Pellegrino Faix, executive director of the Richardson Olmsted Complex; Eileen Wilms Buermann, who heads up the Montessori Teacher Education Program in Buffalo; Allison Violante, director of the Buffalo Chapter of Flashes of Hope; Vandra Ruppel of Woodcock Brothers Brewery in Wilson; and a host of others.
On this Election Day, WBFO's Mark Scott and Buffalo Spree Editor Elizabeth Licata also touch on the challenges women continue to face in the political arena.
Besides Western New York women, Mark and Elizabeth talk about the burgeoning beer-making industry in Western New York, plus the popularity of a Thanksgiving Day tradition -- the Turkey Trot.
