The Erie County Legislature met Thursday afternoon for the first time in the new year, and held its annual reorganization.
April Baskin was reelected to a fourth year as chair of the Legislature, while Tim Meyers was chosen as Majority Leader.
Both were unanimously voted in by the seven-member Democratic majority of the Legislature, as all members were sworn in to their new terms. They were determined in the November election and took effect New Year's Day.
Meyers was also appointed chair of the Finance and Management, and Energy and Environment Committees. Other committee chairs are Lisa Chimera for Health and Human Services, plus Minority and Women Business Enterprise; John Bargnesi will head up Government Affairs; Howard Johnson takes on Economic Development and Public Safety; John Gilmour will lead Community Enrichment: and Jeanne Vinal is the chair of the Small Business Committee.
