Gov. Andrew Cuomo has issued an executive order that postpones the counting of school district elections and budget votes until June 16.
Those votes, usually held in May, were delayed until Tuesday because of the coronavirus pandemic and were made absentee ballots only.
However, some districts had problems delivering ballots to residents, so the extra time was granted by the governor.
Completed ballots may now be delivered by mail only to district offices through 5 p.m. June 16 and they may be dropped off in district receptacles, if available, until Wednesday at 5 p.m.
