Southern Tier congressman Tom Reed has been named Honorary Campaign Chairman for President Donald Trump's re-election campaign in New York.

“Our New York Trump Victory leadership team will work to elect Republicans across the state,” said Trump Campaign Manager Brad Parscale and Republican National Committee Chair Ronna McDaniel in a joint statement.

Reed has continued a close relationship with the president, as did Clarence Republican Chris Collins, who was the first congressman to endorse Trump during his 2016 election campaign.

After that election, Reed also served as vice chair of Trump's transition team. Reed has spoken out against the impeachment of the president.

“The president’s agenda of creating jobs and making America more safe and secure resonates with New Yorkers,” said Reed.
