With Election Day 2019 advancing, WBFO set out to ask people monitoring local races of note throughout Western New York to offer their observations. WBFO contacted Rick Miller, reporter for the Olean Times Herald, to learn more about races and thoughts of the voters in Cattaraugus County.
The highest-profile race is for New York State Senate District 57, which has been vacant since Catharine Young left the seat in late February to become the director of the New York State Center of Excellence for Food and Agriculture at Cornell AgriTech. But it's hardly the only race on the ballot in Cattaraugus County, as Miller explained.
