Brian Kolb re-elected as state Assembly Minority Leader

Assemblymember Brian Kolb has been unanimously re-elected as the state's Assembly Minority Leader.

The Canandaigua Republican says with a changing dynamic in the legislature, the role of Assembly Republicans has never been more critical.

Democrats now control all three branches of government, after taking majority control of the State Senate for the first time in eight years.

Kolb says the Assembly Republican Conference will continue to work to increase accountability and transparency in government, relieve burdens facing small business and look for solutions to infrastructure and transportation problems.

Kolb has been in the Assembly since 2000 and has served as Minority Leader since 2009, which he says makes him the longest-tenured legislative leader in Albany. He also considered a run for Governor in 2017.
