Two new polls out before Tuesday's New York presidential primary show Donald Trump the Republican frontrunner and Hillary Clinton leading her Democratic opponent.A new NY1/Baruch College poll finds Donald Trump has a commanding 43-point lead among state Republicans, while Hillary Clinton has a 13-point advantage among Democrats. In his home state, the poll finds Trump is supported by 60 percent of likely Republican voters, while Ohio Governor John Kasich and U.S. Senator Ted Cruz of Texas trail far behind with 17 percent and 14 percent, respectively.
Meanwhile, a new Siena College poll shows Trump backed by only 50 percent of likely Republican voters, followed by 27 percent for Kasich and 17 percent for Cruz. In March, Trump had 45 percent, Kasich and Marco Rubio each had 18 percent and Cruz had 11 percent.
The Siena poll also has Hillary Clinton leading Bernie Sanders by 10 percentage points among the state's likely Democratic voters ahead of Tuesday's primary. The poll shows Clinton is favored by 52 percent, compared with 42 percent for Sanders. This is down from 55 percent for Clinton to 35 percent for Sanders in March.
