Mayor Brown to reach out to elected & reelected

WBFO News photo by Eileen Buckley

The day after businessman Chris Collins won a seat in Congress, Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown said he is going to reach out to all of the region's representatives in Albany and Washington.

Mayor Brown said even though Tom Reynolds of Clarence did not represent the City when he was in Congress, Reynolds used to help Buffalo because he understood the City's importance to the region.

"I'm hopeful that Congressmember-elect Chris Collins is going to adopt that some posture," said Brown. "I know that during his tenure as county executive, we worked very well together and I'm hoping that will continue."

Brown said democrats and Republicans in the state Legislature have also been supportive of the City's needs and his administration plans to continue working cooperatively with members of both chambers.

Brown said it's important for elected officials to work in the best interest of the region.

"To build a city which is the hub of the region," said Mayor Brown.
