Mike Desmond/WBFO

Incumbent Mark Grisanti won in a landslide in the Republican Primary in the race for the 60th New York State Senate District.

Grisanti was declared the winner after capturing 60% of the vote Thursday night to opponent Kevin Stocker's 40%.

"I accept the nomination of the Republican and Independence party," said Grisanti.

Grisanti delivered his acceptance speech before supporters at the Soho bar on Chippewa in downtown Buffalo with his wife and family by his side.

Grisanti said his goal as a state lawmaker is to continue to work to cut taxes and "make sure Western New York gets its fair share of resources."

In the Democratic Primary for the 60th Senate district,  Michael Amodeo also celebrated a landslide win Thursday evening with 60% of the vote in  a three-way against former politicians Alfred Coppola and Charles Swanick.

In the New York State Assembly 149th District Democratic Primary, incumbent Sean Ryan was victorious Thursday  with 64% percent of the vote against two opponents, Joseph Mascia and Kevin Gaughan.  But Mascia will run on the Conservative line in the November election.

In the NYS Senate 62nd District Republican Primary, incumbent George Maziarz has a big victory with 67% of the vote over Johnny Destino with 33%.   In the Working Families Primary for the 62nd Senate seat Amy Hope Witryol  emerged the winner against Timothy Moriarty.

In the NYS Senate 63rd District Democratic Primary, it is too close to call.  Incumbent Timothy Kennedy leads his opponent,  Betty Jean Grant, by 271 votes.   Election officials say there are more than 1,000 absentee ballots to count in that district.

In the NYS Assembly 147th District Republican Primary, David DiPietro leads with 44% to  David Mariacher's 37%.
