Aubrey Calhoun has been named the new executive director and CEO of the Buffalo City Mission.

The Board of Directors of the Buffalo City Mission has announced a new executive director and CEO, who will take over next month.

Aubrey Calhoun will be the first female executive director and CEO in the City Mission's 105-year history when she succeeds Stuart Harper, who is stepping down effective May 6.

Calhoun has served numerous leadership roles during her 16-year career at the City Mission, most recently chief operating officer. Among her accomplishments are guiding the Mission's Next Century Capital Campaign, a $15 million fundraising initiative that sparked construction of the Alfiero Family Center of Hope and Promise.

Harper is leaving after 14 years as executive director, overseeing the completion of the 75,000-square-foot community center.

The City Mission is also continuing its efforts to recruit volunteers, and solicit donations to maintain its efforts to help patrons who face homelessness.
