Last week's overnight three-alarm fire at the Buffalo Grand Hotel has been determined an arson.
The Buffalo Fire Department, in a Facebook posting, said their probe, along with federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives investigators, showed the fire was deliberately set.
The blaze was confined to a newly renovated banquet facility located above the hotel's parking ramp and was discovered by a Buffalo Police officer patrol who saw smoke at around 1 a.m. Thursday morning. Damage was estimated at $3 million.
The former Adam's Mark Hotel was just renamed the Ramada by Wyndham Buffalo Downtown. No damage was reported to any hotel rooms, but the facility was shut down by order of the city.
