The Buffalo Common Council is starting its 2022 by making no changes to its leadership structure.
At its reorganizational meeting Monday, Councilmembers voted to retain Ellicott District representative Darius Pridgen as their council president.
“To all of my colleagues, I'd like to just take a moment to thank you for the vote of confidence. We'll continue to work hard for all districts to ensure what you need in your districts, and as we work together, to continue to move forward. I appreciate and I do not take your vote lightly,” Pridgen said immediately after being sworn in.
Niagara District representative David Rivera was elected majority leader, while South District representative Christopher Scanlon was elected president pro tempore.
Four Council committees meetings are scheduled for Tuesday, with the next full Council meeting scheduled for Jan. 11.
