The Super Blood Moon rises over a residential area in New Delhi during a total lunar eclipse on May 26, 2021.

The Thursday night into early Friday morning sky will go mostly dark for a near total lunar eclipse.

The celestial event will be the longest partial eclipse in the last 580 years.

WBFO’s Jay Moran spoke with Emilyann Kerr, a board member of Buffalo’s Astronomical Association about this once in a lifetime event, and what we can expect to see if we get a break in the cloud cover tonight.

You can watch a live stream of the lunar event here.
