Road rage sends car into Lockport home

Police sirens

A case of road rage in Lockport overnight took a dangerous turn, when one of the vehicles involved crashed into a home.

The Niagara County Sheriff's Office said it received multiple 911 calls, reporting the crash on Tonawanda Creek Road.

Deputies on the scene said they found a 17-year-old male had lost control negotiating a curve at a high rate of speed. The teen's vehicle struck a guardrail, a tree, a fire hydrant and then struck a home at 6689 Tonawanda Creek.

The vehicle ended up inside a first-floor bedroom. No injuries were reported and there is no estimate on damage yet. The residents have been evacuated until the home can be repaired.

Deputies said the teenage driver had been involved in a road rage incident just prior. He was charged with reckless driving and multiple other vehicle and traffic law violations.
