Assemblyman Phil Palmesano spoke at the session offering criticism of the proposal and an introduction to another legislation.

"The legislature has done a similar letter, and I'll still introduce legislation that would require the state to do a full cost benefit analysis of the true financial cost of what it will impact, every part of our economy, families, businesses, manufacturers, because this is going to have a wide-ranging impact on every spectre of our economy and public. And the reliability end of it needs to be addressed, too."

The Climate and Community Investment Act looks to raise $15 billion per year from corporate polluters and use it to create green jobs, invest in frontline communities, transition New York State to 100 percent renewable energy, and support the communities most affected by climate change and pollution.
