North Park Theatre returns with Demon Slayer

Buffalo’s North Park Theatre opens April 22 for the first time since November. Even if restrictions continue to be lifted, North Park Program Director Ray Barker says they will take their time returning to the maximum allowed capacity.

What movie lineup do you program for audiences who mostly have been absent from theaters for over a year?

For North Park, it's a little of everything. An anime hit in 'Demon Slayer Mugen Train', an Oscar nominee in 'Promising Young Woman,' and planned May showings for the shot-in-Buffalo 'A Quiet Place Part II.'

Barker says Japan's highest-grossing film ever, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train, is a perfect film to welcome audiences back to the theater.

North Park has developed a dedicated base of anime fans by consistently providing screentime for highly-anticipated genre films such as 'Weathering With You' (2019), 'A Silent Voice' (2016), and 'My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising' (2019).
