Investigators comb the Fountain Plaza Metro Rail station.

The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority has identified the man who died at the Fountain Plaza Metro Rail station Thursday night.

The NFTA said Mark Coleman, 53, apparently became caught between train cars.

Witnesses said Coleman apparently jumped on the coupler between the cars at around 8:30 p.m. and he fell as the train began moving. He was dragged into the subway portal.

The train driver said he was not aware of the incident until he was told at the end of the run at the University Station. Metro Rail was shut down for the rest of the evening.

Transit and Buffalo Police continue their investigation into the incident.
