Four more wounded in three separate shootings in Buffalo

A shooting on Buffalo's East Side early Sunday morning left two people wounded.

Police responded to the 500 block of Goodyear Avenue around 4:30am. Detectives say a 21-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man, both from Buffalo, were struck by gunfire. They were taken to the Erie County Medical Center for treatment.

Police also say there was a crash involving three vehicles at the scene. Detectives are trying to determine if the crash was related to the shooting.

Around 9am Sunday, Buffalo police say a man was shot on Sherman Street between Sycamore and Broadway. His wounds are believed to be serious in nature.

A man was shot around 2:00 Saturday afternoon on Sycamore Street near Fillmore Avenue. He was taken to the Erie County Medical Center. According to a police spokesman, officers were looking into whether a second man was struck by gunfire.

In Amherst late Saturday night, police responded to Creekwood Park after receiving reports of a large crowd with as many as 300 people gathering. Police say gun shots were fired. Officers found several spent casings.

There were no injuries.

Officers dispersed the crowd. But a news release did not indicate if there were any arrests.

An investigation is continuing.
